Recently, I sold the home that my wife, Jo Ann, and I purchased new in 1966. We started and raised our family in that home on Mojave Drive. After all those years, the thought of selling was just absolutely daunting to me. There were 53 years of memories and accumulation! I listed the home with Jim Higgins, and he sure picked up the ball and ran with it! Not only did he help me to understand the market and determine the listing price, he jumped in and helped get the home ready to sell. He helped to clear out years of accumulated stuff, handled all the inspections and work, prepped the house for the first open house...painted inside and out, refinished the hardwood floors, “punched up” the landscaping, and staged the home inside and out. My wife and I first met Jim when we were looking to purchase our first home. Though our budget limited our options, Jim always managed to gather a list of homes for us to see as well as provide other suggestions. As we were viewing neighborhoods that we weren't too familiar with, Jim always gave us information about the neighborhoods and gave his insights. It was very helpful to work with someone like Jim that grew up in the south bay and is very knowledgeable on the area. Jim is an exceptional real estate agent! I say this without truly being able to put his hard work into words. To start off, Jim doesn’t usually work in the area where he helped us purchase a home. He drove out to Los Banos, California to see many homes with us. On each trip, he always had so much knowledge about each of the homes. When we finally decided on a home to put an offer in, he helped us through the entire process, ensured all our questions were answered, and was always extremely responsive. While we were going through the closing process, which can be long, he visited the home on multiple occasions to ensure that it wasn’t getting vandalized (common in empty homes). That is not a minor detail, as the drive was an hour and a half from his home. That says a lot about Jim! He dedicated himself to the very end! He is someone I can’t speak more highly of.

Jim was instrumental in helping me get my Uncle’s house ready to sell after his sudden passing. I was overwhelmed with how much stuff my Uncle had accumulated over the past 40 years. Jim helped me get started on clearing out his house. He helped to schedule everything from the dumpster to painters, floor guys, a certified company to come in and scrape the popcorn ceilings. He has a great team that staged the house and also helped to pick some nice colors that really accented the features of the house. He suggested to add some recessed lighting in the high ceilings which really gave the house a nice, modern look. Jim also had the yard cleaned up, trees and shrubs were trimmed back. All inspections were scheduled as soon as possible. In the end, the house looked beautiful and sold very quickly. I really appreciate Jim’s knowledge and expertise to have everything completed and ready to sell. His knowledge of the markets in the San Jose area was key to getting the best price. I highly recommend Jim, he was very professional, shared lots of great information, and great to work with through this stressful process.
